The Moving Words Essay Contest is over ten years old.
This year, we are changing the name to
BBB MOVING WORDS LITERARY PRIZE,
and both fiction and non-fiction are eligible, and….
We are opening it to the entire global community - friends, fans, and family are all welcome to participate.
Three age categories:
Children 8 - 12
Teens 13 - 19
Adults 20 and up
Children: Patron is a term often used for people who give money to the arts. If you were a patron, what would you do or give to benefit the art community? (includes dance, visual art, music, literature, or any artistic endeavor you can imagine).
Adults: Artists need income, and many artistic projects need financial backing. Balancing art and money can be a struggle. Can something be profitable and sincere at the same time? How can society best serve dancers, artists, musicians, and writers when it comes to financial support? And why does it matter? How does artistic endeavor serve the greater good?
Teens: Can choose to answer either question.
Due date: July 25, 2026
